DETAILS: This client was very particular when it came to building this floating cabinet. They sourced their own lumber and came across Tigertail wood, which I had never heard of before. The drawer itself was built of solid maple with a number of locking rabbet joints for strength with a Tigertail face. They did not want any hardware on the front so if you didn’t know you wouldn’t even know the drawer was there. They requested a towel shelf as well as two matching shelves over the toilet. The matching wall over the mirror adds depth to the overall project and makes the room pop. Blum push-to-open drawer slides were utilized to open the drawer. Because the drawer is so wide, an additional geared transfer bar was needed to transfer the “push” to both drawer slides. If you pushed on the left side, the right side wouldn’t open. The bar was added and worked like a charm.
