I must admit, I was intrigued by the idea of building a replica of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin III Table Lamp. Wright called the piece a “study of indirect lighting”. In my version, I attempted to design the “lamp shades” so that you couldn’t see the bulbs directly. I was successful if you are a slight distance away from the lamp. If you are right on top of it, you can see the bulbs.

The warmth of the walnut really shows with this light fixture. The light features five E12 base lights controlled by an On/Off dimmer control on the electrical cord.

The biggest challenge on this project was to stuff all the wiring and connectors into the 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”vertical support. I needed to stagger the connections evenly within the shaft and actually had to take my carving tools and widen the internal channel in a number of places.

Hardware: Phenolic Candelabra (E12) Base Sockets, bulbs, inline dimmer switch
