My son and daughter-in-law asked me to make this sign for my granddaughter, Arlie. I used cedar tongue and groove to boards to give the background a country sort of appeal. I was able to use SketchUp to be able to accurately cut the lettering to the proper scale, using the software’s “Print to Scale” feature.

Unfortunately, after it was all put together, the oils in the cedar began to bleed through. I had to tape off the lettering and add 2 more coats of white to get the desired look.

MATERIALS: Cedar Tongue and Groove, 1/2” Baltic Birch plywood for the lettering, stained pine framing.
